Carl Albert 24, Guthrie, 21 (for 5A-2 title)
Hayden Calvert, Guthrie — "We faced a really athletic defense but yet we were still able to run the ball effectively and pass the ball to move the chains. I always know that our defense will come up with big stops to get the offense back on the field. That was one of the most well-rounded games that we have played all year. We will start in 6AI-1 with Bixby and Jenks. I think it’s safe to say that Bixby is clearly in charge and will be the district champ in 6AI-1. Where do the rest shake out? Jenks will likely pick up wins against Broken Arrow and Southmoore but fall to Bixby. The loss to Westmoore is critical for the Trojans. If Westmoore can beat Norman North and Southmoore, they will finish second in district in front of Jenks. Their other remaining game is Bixby, but everyone will have a loss to the Spartans. So, who gets that 4-spot?
Brad’s prediction for 6AI-1 . . . . . .

Player of the Week
Hadley Wood, Kiefer Fr. -- VYPE+ remembers freshman standout catcher Hadley Wood, her talent, her passion for the game and her sportsmanship. The freshman made a pinch hit appearance to help lift her team to the state tournament last week. Wood is the lone recipient of this week's Player of the Week Award. Both the Kiefer and Oklahoma softball communities are in our thoughts.
Honorable Mentions
Keelie Treat, Stuart Jr. -- Struck out all nine batters she faced against Oilton in the first round of regionals. Struck out 19 against No. 11 Whitesboro. Struck out nine of 12. . . . .

Not a Pretty Game for Jenks
Brad’s Take: Coach Riggs said it after the game while being interviewed for the post-game radio broadcast, “it was just ugly, and we didn’t play very well.” . . .
