Mustang loses fourth consecutive game to Norman

Have the Mustang Broncos, who I championed as the best 6A-I team on this side of the state just weeks ago, fallen out of the playoff picture altogether? In a stunning turn of events, the Broncs have dropped four straight games — all crucial district matches — the latest, a 27-19 loss to the Norman Tigers.

Carl Albert 24, Guthrie, 21 (for 5A-2 title)

Hayden Calvert, Guthrie — "We faced a really athletic defense but yet we were still able to run the ball effectively and pass the ball to move the chains. I always know that our defense will come up with big stops to get the offense back on the field. That was one of the most well-rounded games that we have played all year. Losing sucks, but we’ll see them again in six weeks. . . . . .

Ten years ago, a 27-year old Brett Bogert's music rotation consisted of artists like Lil Wayne and Arctic Monkeys and Kanye West's recently-released Yeezus.

"What, The Carter? That had to have been somewhere around there. Maybe Tha Carter III or IV?," the ninth-year Heritage Hall head football coach said Thursday night after the Chargers' 67th straight district win over Pauls Valley. "That's the best part about coaching, is I go in the locker room and I'm like 'Hey, what [song] is this?' It's fun. Those guys keep my young."
