3 Tulsa Area Games to Watch: Lincoln with a Tough Roadie, Kelley v Edison Clash, Union Hosting Norman
Lincoln Facing Toughest Test
Brad’s Take: The Bulldogs of Lincoln Christian will take the roadie to Checotah where they will face their toughest contest to date. The Wildcats are 5-1 and outscoring opponents 236 to 136. With a potent offense and a defense that does not give up the big play, Lincoln will have their work cut out for them. The undefeated Bulldogs have a salty defense of their own and should come out on top despite playing in a hostile environment. My pick, Lincoln 38-24 over Checotah.
Kelley, Edison Ignite Old Rivalry
Brad’s Take: The Edison Eagles ended a two-game losing streak last week with their win over Nathan Hale, while Bishop Kelley is riding a three-game winning streak after picking up a victory over Collinsville. These two teams seem to be going in opposite directions, however, Edison loves this game and so do their fans. This is a road game for the Comets, but they should travel well. The big question is, can the Edison offense put points on the board? I don’t think so. I’m taking Kelley, 42-17.
Union May Hang 70 on Norman
Brad’s Take: Do I think they will really put up 70-points against the Tigers? Well, it’s not likely but the potential exists if this Union offense and OC Dub Maddox cut through the Norman secondary like a hot knife through butter. Shaker Reisig can make all of the throws and probably has the best group of wide receivers in the state. Norman has fought hard this season and they are 2-0 in district play. They’re riding a two-game win streak, but it won’t be enough to get past Union. Redhawks 69 Norman 24.
