Congratulations to the 2023 Edmond Area Football Fan’s Choice and Editor’s Choice!!

Fan’s Choice

Quarterback – Daniel Newton (Edmond Santa Fe)

Entering his junior season, Newton looks to lead the Wolves offense to a successful year.

Wide Receiver/Tight End – Jaylen Harper (Guthrie)

Harper is a wide receiver by trade but last season saw him step in and play tailback to help his team. He is an outstanding all-around athlete and should be an impact player this season.

Running Back – C.J. Wilson (Crescent)

Wilson is a solid runner out of the backfield that has a knack for getting into the open space.

Stone Fisher – Crescent

Offensive Lineman – Stone Fisher (Crescent)

Taking care of things up front, Fisher is an outstanding lineman that does a great job of keeping the defense out of the backfield.

Defensive Lineman – Bergin Kysar (Edmond Santa Fe)

Kysar does a great job of disrupting the opposing offense’s plans. He has worked hard this offseason and is ready to get back on the field.

Joaquin Amaro – Coyle

Linebacker – Joaquin Amaro (Coyle)

Playing at linebacker, Amaro will work to shut down whatever the opponent throws at him.

Defensive Back – Vincent Mitchell (Edmond Memorial)

Mitchell is great at patrolling the secondary and keeping the offense at bay.

Editor’s Choice

QB David McComb 6-3, 220, Jr. Edmond Memorial Bulldogs

As a sophomore McComb threw for over 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns. With another summer under his belt, expect McComb to increase those numbers and solidify his place as one of the top QBs in the class.

Dev Mathews – Edmond North

RB Dev Mathews 6-0, 195, Sr. Edmond North Huskies

With a few DII offers, Huskie running back Dev Matthews stock is on the rise. Last season he played offense and defense as a free safety. Matthews is expected to have a big season thanks to a solid offseason regiment and his performance in summer camps.

WR Mason Smith 6-3, 195, Jr. Deer Creek Antlers

During his sophomore campaign Mason Smith of Deer Creek made 54 receptions for 755 yards and nine touchdowns. With his size and strength, Smith has worked and grown into one of the top spots for receivers in the class.

OL Josh Aisosa 6-3, 300, Sr. Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

One of the top offensive line prospects in the 2024 class, Josh Aisosa is everything you want in an offensive lineman. His stock continues to rise as more recruiters are looking for guys ready to step in and play at the next level.

DL Devin Gillispie 6-0, 300, Jr. Edmond Memorial Bulldogs

Possibly the best DT in the 2025 class, Devin Gillispie is a two-year starter and the anchor of the defensive line. Gillispie can squat 600-pounds and will force teams into a double-team situation to slow him down.

Bergin Kysar – Edmond Santa Fe

LB Bergin Kysar 6-3, 240, Sr. Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

A two-time VYPE Top 100 selectee, Bergin Kysar is everything advertised. Whether he’s at linebacker or on the defensive line, which is where he will see most of his time, Kysar is a force and someone who can change the course of a game.

DB Kyus Henry 5-10, 180, Sr. Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

The third Santa Fe player on the list, Kyus Henry may be the most athletic player on either side of the ball. Henry has tremendous speed, feet, hips, and amazing ball skills. Henry is just as focused in the classroom, making him a complete student-athlete.
