Congratulations to the 2023 Tulsa Public Football Fan’s Choice and Editor’s Choice!!

Fan’s Choice:

Quarterback – Deon Franklin (Nathan Hale)

Franklin registered 375 passing yards last season along with three touchdown passes. He enters this season looking to be an impact player on the offensive side of the ball.

Corey Rowland (Edison Prep)

Wide Reciever/Tight End – Corey Rowland (Edison Prep)

Corey is an outstanding pass catcher and should be a key player for Eidson this season.

Running Back – RJ Rhine (Tulsa Central)

He has great vision and exceptional speed which gives him the advantage as a running back. RJ also works very hard in the weight room, practice, and the classroom. He is very respectful and mannerable young man.

Offensive Lineman – Montrel Knighton (Nathan Hale)

A tough player on the offensive line, Montrel works hard and is a solid member of the team.

Defensive Lineman – Lontonio Isaac (Tulsa Central)

Issac wreaks havoc on opponents and works to shut down their offense.

Carmello Williamson (Nathan Hale)

Linebacker – Carmello Williamson (Nathan Hale)

Williamson is the type of kid just willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. Last season, he registered 55 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and four sacks.

Defensive Back – Jeradiah Hernandez (Nathan Hale)

Jeradiah has worked hard and is ready to step up and make a bigger impact on the field this season.

Editor’s Choice:

Dennis Nolan – (McLain)

QB Dennis Nolan 5-10, 190, Sr. McLain Titans

A player who can play any skill position on the field. Nolan is the spark that makes the McLain football team go. He is a two-way player and someone who deserves a shot at playing football at the next level.

RB Kortland Lowe 5-10, 185, Sr. Nathan Hale Rangers

A strong runner for the Rangers, Lowe is a two-time VYPE Top 100 selectee and someone who brings leadership to the field for coach Irvin. Lowe rushed for 980 yards last season and is itching to hit that 1,000-yard mark as a senior.

WR Ayden Guess 6-4, 225, Sr. Tulsa Central Braves

Guess is an exceptional athlete who has all the tools in the toolbox. He can run crisp routes, has a long wingspan and is known for making the tough catch look easy. Guess is a two-way starter for the Braves, seeing time at defensive end as well.

OL Darian Melendez 6-5, 305, Sr. Booker T. Washington Hornets

Possibly the most underrated offensive lineman in Oklahoma. As a junior Melendez recorded 40 pancakes from his tackle position and is expected to be just as good or better in 2023.

DE Jayden Remache 6-2, 200, Sr. Will Rogers Ropers

One of the leaders on the Ropers defense, Remache made 50 tackles, four sacks, and made four fumble recoveries as a junior. He also added 11 tackles for loss. Remache quietly gets the job done for the Ropers and is the assassin you want coming off the edge.

LB Carmello Williamson 6-3, 185, So. Nathan Hale Rangers

Don’t let the fact that Williamson is a sophomore fool you. This kid can play. As a freshman he tallied 55 tackles, four sacks with eight tackles for loss. Williamson has the size and ability to be one of the more feared outside linebackers in the state.

DB Jordan Sells 6-2, 170, Sr. Booker T. Washington Hornets

At 6-foot-2, Sells has an advantage over most of the receivers he will defend against this season. Sells accounted for 21 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble last year. The senior will make a statement this year and make his bid to play at the next level.
