Hunter Sheppard – LEXINGTON BULLDOGS

The Lexington Bulldogs have been having themselves their best season since 2019 when they last made the playoffs at 6-5. The team has been a combined 5-23 from 2020 to last season and after going 1-3 in non-district action they have won four of the last six going into week ten and currently sit at 5-4 and clinched a playoff berth after a 13-7 win over Atoka on week seven. The Bulldogs are a very young team overall and while they may only have 28 players, they have still held their own this season. Sophomore QB Cadyn Kreuger and RB Cameron Weatherford along with senior Ean Caywood have been some of the driving force on this young team and the sky’s the limit for this young and growing squad.

Brad Heath – DRUMRIGHT TORNADOES

If you want about turnarounds, then you must talk about Drumright. New head coach Chris Elerick has done an incredible job with his team. In the last five seasons the Tornadoes had won 13 games and lost 40. 13-40 in five years. Enter coach Elerick. This season the Tornadoes are 9-0 overall and 4-0 in district B-7. They cruised to a district title and will enter the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in Class B. The offense has scored over 500 points and is nearly unstoppable. Coach Elerick should be a candidate for Coach of the Year. Now let’s see what this team does in the playoffs.

Chance Burk – CLAREMORE ZEBRAS

I believe Claremore has been the most surprising team this season. Although they are loaded with talent and have an experienced head coach, I don’t think anyone thought they would be this good. A remarkable season for the Zebras.

Chris Cox – NORTH ROCK CREEK COUGARS

North Rock Creek. In just their second year of eligibility, they have made the playoffs and have the talent to make some noise in the postseason. There was optimism surrounding the program going into the season but making the playoffs this year was a big surprise!

Bryce McKinnis – GUTHRIE BLUEJAYS

Guthrie. Nobody should be surprised the Bluejays are a one-loss team at this point in the season, but even I didn’t expect they would have gone the first seven games giving up only 3 total points. They gave the undefeated Carl Albert Titans all they wanted a week ago and are surely hungry to see them again in the postseason.
