Week Nine Games to Watch: I-35 Area

Last Updated: October 25, 20233 min read

Ada vs Poteau

It will be one of the top games in the state! Poteau is a very athletic, discipline football team and they are playing really good football! said Coach Brad O’Steen.

Sulphur vs Heritage Hall

This game features a tale of two different teams, A young but physical Bulldogs team and a Chargers team that is a juggernaut on offense. This game will be for the 3A-2 district title and will likely be the game of the week in Class 3A.

Washington vs Comanche

Comanche will be our homecoming and last regular season home game of the year. A big week nine matchup for us, and we need to build momentum going into the playoffs said Coach Brad Beller.

Pauls Valley vs Dickson

It’s a big game for us to stay alive for the playoffs. We have to have a good week of practice and make sure we are getting better then go take care of business Thursday said Coach Dusty Raper.

Healdton vs Wynnewood

They have a solid team with good tradition. It’s been a little bit of a disappointing season for them so I’m sure they’re going to come in with the desire to get a win. For us it’s another opportunity for us to go compete. Coming off a big win for us should give us some confidence going into this week said Coach Dylan Terry.

Thackerville vs Paoli

They are a very experienced team, well coached and disciplined. Definitely in the Drivers seat for the district championship. Very balanced team that runs and throws the ball well said Coach Vince Fulks.

This is another MUST WIN game for us to capture the District Championship… Paoli is a big physical team the plays a lot of POWER football. They try to get you to stack the box and then will run some play action passes and try to catch you off guard so we are going to have to play assignment football on the defensive side. On the defensive side I don’t think they can match up with our team speed so we are going to have to take advantage of that. If we just take care of business I think we will get the win said Coach Mark Barrett.

Stratford vs Rush Springs

They play hard & are well coached. We need to have a good week of preparation & will need to play well. They’ve had some injuries the last couple of weeks I think, but they will be ready to compete said Coach Michael Blackburn.

Maysville vs Bowlegs

Bowlegs is a team that’s much Improved under their new coach and have more numbers and depth this year. They lead 6-0 vs Thackerville after the first quarter, so they are getting better and better every week and gaining more confidence in the system they are running. They are big and strong up front in the middle. We are going to have to build off of what we did at Maud this Friday and keep the ball in our offenses hands and control the clock. As far as defense goes, our new guys got some much needed experience for the push to get into the playoffs. I expect them to be even more comfortable in what we are doing this week vs Bowlegs said Coach Dace Lemieux.

Plainview vs Marlow

This game has big playoff implications on the line, The Outlaws currently control their fate while for the Indians this a big must win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
