Week Five Games to Watch: I-35 Area
Ada vs Hilldale
Another big district game. They have several talented players and a lot of size on the offensive and defensive line. They are well coached and very disciplined said Coach Brad O’Steen. The Cougars are coming off a 7-0 win over Sallisaw.
Washington vs Community Christian
As it has been for the last several years the CCS game will have a lot at stake. The last time we played at Washington, CCS held us to our lowest point total of the year said Coach Brad Beller. The Warriors are coming off a 42-7 win over Frederick.
Paoli vs Bowlegs
Bowlegs, new coach young team that is playing hard and fast. They do a great job defensively getting lined up to multiple formations. Should be a dog fight said Coach Vince Fulks. The Pugs are coming off a 20-8 loss to Maud.
Healdton vs Rush Springs
We’ve seen them a few times on film now. They seemed to have gotten better each week. They just played a tough game this past week against Ringling so I’m sure they’re going to be coming into this week with some confidence. For us we’re looking to progress in our execution in all three phases of the game. Want to limit the self inflicted wounds and find ways to force some turnovers said Coach Dylan Terry. The Bulldogs are coming off a 38-0 loss to Stratford.
Marietta vs Atoka
We might both be going with our 2nd QBs. They have speed at the receiver position and a physical run game. Same speed at secondary and linebacker. We are looking to continue to improve and give our young players’ time to grow said Coach Alex Doby. The Indians are coming off a 63-22 loss to Coalgate.
Maysville vs Fox
This is a game where we can continue to work some new things offensively we’re trying to do to fit our QB Holden Tyler. A chance for us to get some much needed reps on both sides of the football with guys playing positions that they aren’t necessarily comfortable with yet this early in the season. We are young in several positions so this is a great game for us to get those players much needed experience said Coach Dace Lemieux. The Warriors are coming off a 46-24 loss to Graham-Dustin.
Thackerville vs Saskawa
Sasakwa is also a young team but has 2-3 athletic kids that can break one if we don’t take care of business and make tackles. I still feel like with the experience of my team we can come out with a win as long as we take care of the ball. We can do things defensively that I think will confuse Sasakwa a bit and give us an advantage…. Looking to go 2-0 in District play! said coach Mark Barrett. The Wildcats are coming off a 74-24 win over Fox.
Lexington vs Davis
The Bulldogs have already doubled their win total from last season with a 12-8 win over Tishomingo and the Wolves are looking to continue their dominance after a 32-14 win over Holdenville.
Pauls Valley vs Heritage Hall
They are really really good. We have our hands full. Their QB has improved tremendously as a passer and he is the fastest kid in the state. But we are good too said Coach Dusty Raper. The Panthers are coming off a 22-7 loss to Marlow.
Wilson vs Caddo
They are very athletic and an explosive offensive team. We are going to have to play very well this week. We are healthy going into week 5 which is a plus. If we can control the clock and limit mistakes it will be a plus for us. This is the final week before district play starts, and an important week to stay healthy and fix any problems we might have. We are going to have to contain their QB which is very good! said Coach John Williamson. The Eagles are coming off a bye week.
