The Washington Warriors and the Purcell Dragons are going into their annual War on 74 rivalry with the 2A-3 district title on the line, Both teams are undefeated in district play and are looking to make a statement in this series. The Warriors and Dragons have played every season since 2008 and the Warriors lead the series all time 10-6 and currently hold a nine game win streak, The two teams met in the playoffs in 2020 and it is the only time they have matched up in postseason with the Warriors winning that one 49-7 after winning the regular season game 40-27.

The series first started in 2008 with the Dragons winning the first five games in the series by sizeable margins. The Warriors would get their first win the series in 2013 by the score of 15-13, The Dragons would answer back the next season with a 20-0 shutout win but it would be their last victory since then, Since 2015 the Warriors have dominated the series with the most competitive ones being in 2016 with a final score of 20-6 and 2020 in regular season with a final score of 40-27.

This will be the most impactful game in this series history because it will be for the district title. The last time it probably had this much importance was in 2020, but that was also the year we played Purcell in the playoffs. Their offensive scheme is really tough to defend. The coaches do a great job of getting their playmakers the ball. Our defensive front 7 will have to play well to win said Coach Brad Beller.

This game will pretty much decide the district champion of 2A-3 and you can catch both these teams play on Thursday at 7:00pm at Conger Field in Purcell.
