SULPHUR, Okla. -- Sulphur High School athletic director and head varsity football coach Corey Cole, 48, rattles off the numbers in his office.

“There were not many successful seasons before he got here. In the 48 years, what he was able to do: 351 wins, two state championships, a couple runner-ups, I think nine quarterfinal appearances,” Cole says, “people don’t understand what the program was like.”
