Success has followed Brent Barnes everywhere he's been. Through two games and a scrimmage, he's already off to a sweltering start at Yukon High.

Yukon's high school football team only one won game a year ago. Athletic director Brian Hinson handed the keys to Brent Barnes, an Edmond Santa Fe alum and local coaching veteran whose career once took an early stop through Yukon as offensive coordinator from 2006-08. After that, he set sail for powerhouse Union High School in Tulsa.

"Tulsa Union was, for me, kind of the blueprint of how you build a program, and how you develop and how you go about business," Barnes said.
