Shawnee Area Week 1 Schedule
After just a couple of area games in Week 0, we now have a full slate of games for Week 1 including a few in-area matchups. Be sure to check back every Monday for the Monday Morning Quarterback featuring top performers and reactions to the games.

Where: Oklahoma Baptist University’s Crain Family Stadium in Shawnee.
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: Seminole shutout Shawnee last season 16-0. Seminole lead the overall series 3-1-1. Shawnee is looking to snap a 14-game losing streak. Their last win was in Week 7 of 2021.

Perkins-Tryon Demons (0-0) vs Tecumseh Savages (0-0)
Where: McIlvain Field in Perkins
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: Tecumseh is 0-2 against Perkins-Tryon including suffering a 28-7 loss last year.
Harrah Panthers (0-0) vs McLoud Redskins (0-0)
Where: Evans Field in Harrah
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: This is one of the longer standing rivalries in the area. These two teams have played every year since 2006, except for the 2020 season when the game was canceled due to COVID-19. This will be the 48thmeeting since 1965. In those previous 47 meetings, Harrah holds a 32-15 advantage but McLoud won last year’s contest 28-7.

North Rock Creek Cougars (0-0) vs Little Axe Indians (0-0)
Where: North Rock Creek High School in Shawnee
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: North Rock Creek won the only other meeting against Little Axe winning 18-12 last year behind three Caleb Hawkins TDs.

Classen SAS Comets (0-0) vs Bethel Wildcats (0-0)
Where: Moses F. Miller Stadium in Oklahoma City
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: The Wildcats won the only other matchup between these two teams beating Classes SAS 43-12 in 2022.

Meeker Bulldogs (0-0) vs Prague Red Devils (1-0)
Where: Meeker Stadium in Meeker
When: Friday, 9/1/23 @ 7 PM
History: Another long-standing rivalry, this will be the 41st meeting between Meeker and Prague since 1978. This rivalry has been dominated by Prague, who has a 27-13 record against the Bulldogs. The Red Devils won last year’s meeting 24-12.
