Shawnee Area Schedule for Week 2

We have another full slate of games in the Shawnee area this weekend, including several in-area matchups. As always, if you are going to one of these games and would like to send me any stats or pictures for our Monday Morning Quarterback, you can email them to chris.cox@vype.com.

Shawnee Wolves (0-1) vs Ardmore Tigers (0-2)

Where: Noble Stadium in Ardmore.

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7 PM 

History: Shawnee is 4-6 all-time against Ardmore, including falling 28-14 last season. Shawnee is currently on a 15-game losing streak. The Wolves last win was in Week 7 of 2021. Ardmore, at 0-2, has scored just 7 points in their first two games this year.

Seminole Chieftains (1-1) vs Tecumseh Savages (0-1)

Where: Seminole Chieftains Stadium in Seminole

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7:30 PM

History: Seminole has a big lead in the series with 16 wins to Tecumseh’s six. However, Tecumseh has been the better team of late, winning two of the last three meetings. Tecumseh won last year’s matchup 34-8.

Western Heights Jets (0-2) vs Harrah Panthers (1-0)

Where: Charles W. Shields Stadium in Oklahoma City

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7 PM

History: Harrah has dominated this matchup, beating the Jets 10 times in their 14 meetings. Harrah has won the last three matchups, including a 49-6 blowout last year. Western Heights is looking for their first win since the 2019 season. 

North Rock Creek Cougars (1-0) vs Prague Red Devils (2-0)

Where: North Rock Creek High School in Shawnee

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7 PM

History: This is just the second meeting between the Cougars and Red Devils. North Rock Creek is looking to avenge last year’s 62-12 loss and get an early statement win. Prague is looking to continue their good run which has seen them win 4 of their last 5 going back to last season. 

Bethel Wildcats (0-1) vs McLoud Redskins (0-1)

Where: Bethel High School Football Field in Shawnee

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7 PM

History: McLoud has the edge in this Pott. County rivalry, winning 14 of their 23 previous meetings. Last season, McLoud beat Bethel 21-7 to snap a 3-game Bethel winning streak in the rivalry. 

Holdenville Wolverines (1-0) vs Meeker Bulldogs (0-1)

Where: Holdenville High School Field in Holdenville

When: Friday, 9/8/23 @ 7:30 PM

History: This has been a tight series with Meeker holding a 6-5 edge. However, Holdenville beat their long-time district foe 20-14 last year in their first ever non-district matchup.
