The Purcell Lady Dragons and the Cache Lady Bulldogs were set to matchup in the third place game of the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament. This game would be a pitcher’s duel between Ella Resendiz for Purcell and Kadielynne Fisher for Cache.

The top of the first the Lady Bulldogs would go up to bat and after a walk, The Lady Dragons would get three consecutive outs, two strikeouts from Ella Resendiz in the circle and the other on a pop out to first. The bottom of the inning, The Lady Dragons get right into it with a triple to right field from Kaylin Vazquez and an RBI single from Hannah Whitaker to score and go up 1-0. Ella Resendiz would get on base with a single line drive but a double play brought the inning to a close.

The top of the second would be three up and three down for the Lady Bulldogs including another strikeout in the circle from Resendiz for her third of the day. The bottom of the inning, The Lady Dragons would get on base with back to back singles from MacKenzie McKay and Kenna Esparza including a sacrifice bunt from Hadleigh Harp to advance runners to second and third but two consecutive outs and good defense from the Lady Bulldogs brought the inning to a close.

The top of the third inning would be three up and three down once again for the Lady Bulldogs including a strikeout from Ella Resendiz for her fourth in the circle. The bottom of the the third after two consecutive outs, Ella Resendiz would get to second on a double to left field but a strikeout from Kadielynne Fisher brought the inning to a close.

The top of the fourth inning the Lady Bulldogs went three up and three down again and Resendiz would get strikeout number five for the third out. The bottom of the fourth after two consecutive outs, The Lady Dragons would get back to back singles from Hadleigh Harp and Payci Constant to get on base but a pop out to third brought the inning to a close.

The top of the fifth inning the Lady Bulldogs would get on base with a single from Danielle Powell but back to back strikeouts from Ella Resendiz would bring the inning to a close and would be her sixth and seventh strikeouts in the circle. The bottom of the fifth, The Lady Dragons got on base with a single on a single from Hannah Whitaker but three consecutive outs including a double play closed the inning.

The top of the sixth inning the Lady Bulldogs would get on base on a bunt single from Asia Timmons but two consecutive outs followed including the ninth strikeout on the day from Ella Resendiz. The Lady Dragons for the first time on the day went three up and three down as the Lady Bulldogs came up big on defense.

The top of the seventh inning and the Lady Bulldogs would need to score here to keep it alive. The Lady Bulldogs would get back to back singles from Maddie Tate and Kadielynne Fisher but three consecutive outs including a pickoff at second and the tenth strikeout on the day from Ella Resendiz sealed the game and the Lady Dragons would hang on to win 1-0.

Ella Resendiz pitched the whole game for the Lady Dragons and only allowed four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out ten and only walking one. Kadielynne Fisher pitched the whole game for the Lady Bulldogs giving up nine hits and only one run, striking out two and walking none across six innings.

Ella Resendiz and Hannah Whitaker lead the Lady Dragons with two hits and both going 2-3 at the plate. Maddie Tate, Danielle Powell, Kadielynne Fisher and Asia Timmons each had one hit to lead the Lady Bulldogs at the plate.

Purcell returns to action at home on Monday against Dickson while Cache plays at home against Anadarko, Both in district play.
