Home team listed first.
Shawnee Wolves (2-4, 0-2) vs John Marshall Bears (0-6, 0-2)
Result: Shawnee beat John Marshall 37-0
Top Performer(s): Ryan High, Shawnee (LB, Jr) – 18 total tackles, 3 TFL, 2 FF, 1 Blocked Punt Deetrick Beavers, Shawnee (RB, Jr) – 13 carries, 133 yards, 2 TDs
Coach’s Quote: “Great effort by our defense to force seven turnovers and defend some short fields. It was a better showing by our offensive line opening the door for Beavers. Owens also had a good night with two passing TDs to balance out the offensive attack.” – Jason Madonna, Shawnee HC
My Thoughts: This was a huge win for Shawnee and it came on the Wolves Homecoming night making it even sweeter. Not only was it a shutout, their first since 2017, but the Wolvers were dominant in all three phases of the game. It was not a district game, so the win does not help improve their playoff chances, but it gives Shawnee a lot of momentum going into the final four games of the season. If the Wolves continue to play good team football, they could find themselves in the postseason.
Up Next: Shawnee @ Lawton Eisenhower (3-4, 0-3), 10/13/23, 7 PM

Coach’s Quote:
My Thoughts: This was a big win for Harrah. The Panthers, after a hot start, were in danger of dropping to 0-3 in district play but they bounced back and got a huge district win on Homecoming. For Tecumseh, the loss highlights where they need to improve to compete with some of the top teams in their district.
Up Next: Tecumseh vs Bethany (4-2, 2-1), 10/12/23, 7 PM Harrah vs Newcastle (5-1, 2-1), 10/12/23, 7 PM

Coach’s Quote: “We challenged our kids to get off to a fast start and they did that. We are proud of their effort.” – Jason Murray, North Rock Creek HC
My Thoughts: This was a good win for NRC as they look to take that next step as a program. The Cougars, with the win, are now squarely in hunt for a playoff spot.
Up Next: NRC vs Anadarko (1-5, 1-2) 10/12/23, 7 PM
McLoud Redskins (3-3, 2-1) vs Metro Christian Patriots (4-2, 2-1)

Top Performer(s): Chris Smith, McLoud (LB, Sr) – 8 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack Shaun Hill, McLoud (RB/DB, Jr) – 5 carries, 20 yards, 1 catch, 27 yards, 1 TD, 5 tackles, 2 PBU Zaylun Matlock, McLoud (WR/DB, Soph) – 3 catches, 44 yards, 5 tackles, 1 PBU
Coach’s Quote: “hats off to Metro Christians, they played well. They were a state finalist last year for a reason. Our guys fought in the 2nd half to maintain our identity and close the gap. We have a huge district game coming up against Mannford this week.” Coleman Ramsey – McLoud HC
My Thoughts: McLoud fell to a really good Metro Christian on Friday. That game showed the Redskins still have some things to clean up to compete with top teams in their district. But, this McLoud team should be able to make the playoffs and, once they get there, could surprise some teams.
Up Next: McLoud vs Mannford(1-5, 0-3) 10/12/23, 7 PM

Muldrow Bulldogs (1-6, 1-2) vs Seminole Chieftains (3-4, 2-1)
Result: Seminole beat Muldrow 30-14

Coach’s Quote:
My Thoughts: Seminole seems to be rounding into form and currently find themselves in playoff position. The Chieftains will have some work to do over the next few weeks to get ready for the postseason but the Chieftains look l poised to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2021. Seminole’s athletes are gaining experience and will get a good test this week against undefeated Lincoln Christian.

Chandler Lions (5-1, 3-0) vs Bethel Wildcats (2-4, 1-2)
Result: Chandler beat Bethel 68-21
Top Performer(s): Brady Lower, Bethel (RB/LB, Sr) – 10 carries, 67 yards, 1 TD, 3 tackles Reagan Curry, Bethel (WR/DB, Sr) – 2 catches, 74 yards, 1 TD, 2 tackles Austin Melson, Bethel (LB, Jr) – 12 tackles, 1 TFL Luke Quinter, Bethel (LB, Sr) – 10 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack
Coach’s Quote: “I thought Chandler was really good. I would have liked to have seen us execute a little better both offensively and defensively. We definitely have some things we will work to clean up as we come down the home stretch in our district schedule and battle for a playoff spot.” – Joey Ginn, Bethel HC
My Thoughts: Bethel ran into a buzz saw that is Chandler on Friday night. The Wildcats did not match up well with the Lions, but they will have a chance to get back on the right track next week as they take on a Star-Spencer that has not won a game in district.
Up Next: Bethel @ Star-Spencer (3-3, 0-3), 10/13/23, 7 PM
Kellyville Ponies (0-6, 0-3) vs Meeker Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1)
Result: Meeker beat Kellyville 60-6
Top Performer(s): Ajay Lynch, Meeker (RB, Sr) – 11 rush, 157 yards, 2 TDs Treyvon Compton, Meeker (QB/DB, Jr) – 5-8, 128 yards, 3 carries, 30 yards, 4 total TDs Logan Devereaux, Meeker (LB, Jr) – 2 INT, 2 Def. TDs
Coach’s Quote: “Coming off a previous game where we felt that we were not as physical as we could have been, we put an emphasis on physicality all week in practice. It showed on Friday. We also had multiple kids step up for us due to injuries that we had coming into the game.” – Maverick Lang, Meeker HC
My Thoughts: This was a good rebound game for Meeker after a tough matchup with Chandler last week. The Bulldogs have a very good offense that can put up a lot of points any given week. When their defense is able to match the offense, this is a formidable team.
Up Next: Meeker @ Jones (4-2, 3-0), 10/12/23, 7 PM
Prague Red Devils (6-0, 3-0) vs Roland Rangers (1-5, 0-3)
Result: Prague beat Roland 42-8
Top Performer(s): Ronan Martin, Prague (RB/LB, Jr) – 13 rush, 115 yards, 2 TDs, 12 tackles, 1 FR Robbie Schiltz, Prague (WR/DB/K, Sr) – 2 INT, 2 Def. TDs, 6-6 Extra Points
Coach’s Quote: “I thought we played our worst game of the year in the first half and led 14-8. We made too many mistakes in penalties that called back a kickoff return, and a punt return for touchdowns. Really just went through the motions in the first half. We played a little bit better in the second half to win 42-8, but still way too many mistakes in execution and penalties.” – Rafe Watkins, Prague HC
My Thoughts: Even when Prague struggles, they still find a way to win. The Red Devils are a complete team that will have every chance to win a state title. The Red Devils will have a good test this week when they travel to Sequoyah on Friday.
Up Next: Prague @ Sequoyah (4-2, 3-0), 10/13/23, 7 PM
