District 2A-1 has been fun to follow this season. Oklahoma Christian and Millwood have sat at the top of the district since play began. Both teams are certainly a lock for a playoff spot. One team fighting for their playoff lives would be the Maroons from Perry.

At 3-2, tied with Alva and one game back of Chisholm at 4-1, the Maroons control their own destiny heading into the final two games of the regular season.

That’s to say, the Maroons need two wins and their last two games just happen to be at home against Chisholm and on the road to Alva. Both contests are winnable for the Maroons. Chisholm and Alva both can score points and Alva has played well as of late. They did lose to Chisholm, 24-21 so the win over Alva is a must for Perry.
