Last Updated: August 24, 20231.1 min read

Here are five players we expect to have breakout seasons in the North area. All five are familiar hometown heroes, and play the game with guts, grit and determination. Looking for someone to watch…check these guys out!

Talon Kendrick – Stillwater Pioneers – 6-foot-2, 200-pounds – WR/DB

If you like your wide receivers big, then check out Kendrick at Stillwater. Big, athletic, skilled route runner with great hands and can play defense.

Cooper Leonard – Ponca City Wildcats – 6-foot-1, 257-pounds – OL

Started all 12 games last year and will move to center in 2023. Also serves as the long snapper. Smart, tough and dependable.

Anthony Wiley – Blackwell Maroons – 6-foot, 215-pounds – OL/FB/DE

The utility knife for the Maroons, Wiley is athletic and quick off the ball. He can block, tackles and gain the tough yards inside.

Jon Montgomery – Bristow Pirates – 5-foot-11, 160-pounds – QB

A quiet leader, Montgomery is as unselfish as they come on the football field. He is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team grow and win.

Jackson Stoops – Perry Maroons – 6-foot-4, 190-pounds – TE/OLB

Had a great year as a sophomore on both sides of the ball. Started at OLB as a freshman. 4.0 GPA and academic bowl team member.
