North Area Team of the Week: Frontier Lady Mustangs
Frontier Lady Mustang Softball is on Fire!
The No. 3 ranked team in Class B is 15-2 as they near the halfway mark. The Lady Mustangs have eight shutout wins this season and head coach Justine Wichman said the team is excited to be ranked No. 3.
“Frontier Lady Mustangs have had an amazing start to our season this year. We have a team batting average of .390 and have scored 145 runs and only allowed 25 runs. When our offense is this productive, we will be a very hard team to beat. Additionally, our pitching staff has a team ERA of only 1.8,” said coach Wichman.
With a talented group of athletes, Frontier is seeing the benefits of a team that takes an all-in approach to a season.
“Our team is a very talented young group of athletes. We are very fortunate with the buy-in to our program. What makes the Lady Mustangs tough to beat is the strength of the team. We are fortunate enough to have depth throughout the whole lineup and pitching staff to go along with it. We are a fairly young team with only two senior starters. Our team is a very fun group of young women to watch. The team atmosphere is a close-knit group that likes to have fun with each other on and off the field together,” said Wichman.
Look for the Lady Mustangs to continue showing their power at the plate and the ability to steal bases and score runs.
“As long as we stay within the process and stay humble the Lady Mustangs will make some news in playoffs,” said Wichman.
