Must See Games for Week 0 in Northwest
Besides the heat, week 0 is full of games that bring some spicy flavor to the kickoff of the 2023 season for many area teams.
ALVA GOLDBUGS at PURCELL DRAGONS
Purcell is projected to be a playoff team this season and winning at home is a must for the Dragons. Alva is on the edge of being a playoff team and if they are going to grab a spot out of 2A-1, they must build some confidence and a win on the road would go a long way. The offensive line is the key for the Goldbugs. Running the ball and controlling the clock is the path to success.
Purcell -8
THOMAS TERRIERS at WATONGA EAGLES
Both teams are coming off seasons they would just assume to forget. Always a tough contest, these two are separated by a short 20-minute drive. The question is can the Terriers defense stop the Eagles offense? Sophomore QB Tristan Dobbins is developing into a solid signal caller and the Eagles love to pound the ball.
Watonga -6
OKLAHOMA BIBLE ACADEMY TROJANS at DAVENPORT BULLDOGS
Two teams expected to make the playoffs square off in this week 0 matchup. The Trojans are ranked No.5 in Class B coming into the season while the Bulldogs are picked to finish third in district B-8. Jud Cheatham (Sr.) is one of the best players in the area for OBA. He is the key for the Trojans on both sides of the ball.
OBA -12
