The Cardinals are some bad birds! 

Brad’s Take: How many years have the Collinsville Cardinals been a team to contend with under the leadership of coach Kevin Jones? Forget 2017, but in the last eight years the Cardinals are 76-18 with a state title coming in 2021. They are starting the season 3-0 and look like the favorite for a district title. Collinsville deserves the same amount of hype as other teams, so let’s start making that happen.

The Game vs Bartlesville

Collinsville has a stud in running back Scott Rigby. He broke a big 42-yard run for a TD to put this one away for Collinsville. These Birds are tough to beat with Hudson Henslick on the roster. This kid could find the endzone blindfolded in the dark. 

The Sand Springs chatter will continue! 

Brad’s Take: Maybe I talk about the Sandites too much, but I don’t care. I love their coaching staff and the way this team shows up for a fight in every game they play. I’m going to continue betting on the Sandites. Up next…a tough road game at Muskogee. 

The Game vs Ponca City

An impressive win for the Sandites, getting the job done without their starting QB Easton Webb who was sideline due to an injury suffered in the Bixby game. Big game defensively for Alex Dudley and Gatlin Gunn. Both made huge plays in the secondary.

Catoosa grabs big win over Edison! 

Brad’s Take: I’m wondering if we had it wrong in the Pigskin Preview, picking Catoosa to finish out of a playoff spot this season. Now 2-1, the Indians have wins over Verdigris and Edison with district play starting this week at McLain. Are the Indians righting the ship after a 2-8 season a year ago? I would say so. 

The Game vs Edison 

It was a great defensive effort by the Indians to limit Edison to only six points. The Eagles put up 27-points against Memorial before running into the brick wall that was the Catoosa defense.
