Monday Morning Quarterback: Seiling vs OBA in Epic Battle, Enid Struggles with Edmond North, Shattuck: Just Like Old Times

Seiling Wins Early Test

Brad’s Take: When the Oklahoma Bible Trojans rolled into Seiling, everyone knew this had the potential to be a great game, even an upset. But Seiling showed why Seiling is…well, Seiling. The 18-14 win over OBA isn’t flashy, it’s gritty and playoff like. This is the type of win that can propel Seiling through district play and into the playoffs, where they could meet OBA again.

Enid Drops Home Opener to Edmond North

Brad’s Take: A 43-27 loss to Edmond North is not how the Plainsmen wanted to open home play this season, but we did learn a couple of things. Enid has the ability to drive down the field and put the ball in the endzone, but turnovers are killers. At times, the defense stepped up and played big. If the Plainsmen are going to compete next week against the Jenks Trojans, they must eliminate the turnovers, pick up good yards on first down and second down and move the chains.

Shattuck Reminds Everyone Who They Are

Brad’s Take: Shattuck wins big over Snyder, 50-0. Remember back in 2009 when the Shattuck 93-game winning streak came to an end? If I do, you can bet Shattuck fans do as well. Back then, Shattuck was unbeatable in Class C. Since moving to Class B, the Indians have won three state titles (’17, ’18, ’19) but did not make the playoffs last season. Now 3-0, Shattuck is looking like and feeling like their former selves, moving into district play.
