BARTLESVILLE:
The Bruins face Stillwater for the first time since 2013. Bartlesville has taken 5 of the last six from the Pioneers but trail in the all-time series 23 to 9. The teams first played in 1953.
Bartlesville has never reached a state championship game in football. The Bruins have played in three semifinals (2015, 1988, 1974) but were unable to advance.
Sapulpa stays on the schedule as a non-district game. The teams have split the last twelve meetings but the Chieftains have won the last four. 2022 will mark the ninth consecutive meeting between the teams.
CLAREMORE:
Running back Micah Teel rushed for 144 yards on 26 carries and scored the game winning touchdown in the Zebras 14-7 victory against Will Rogers.
Eli Rodgers had a huge night in the Zebras 35-33 win over Oologah. Rodgers caught 5 passes for 155 yards, ran for a 34-yard touchdown and threw a 60-yard touchdown in the victory.
Claremore has found a way to win the close ones against rival Oologah. The last six games have been decided by a touchdown or less. Claremore has won five of the six including last year’s shootout.
GROVE:
Grove beat Bishop Kelley for the first time in 2022, 41-20. The Ridgerunners had dropped the previous two meetings in 2004, 2005.
The Ridgerunners ended an 11-game losing streak to Wagoner, knocking off the Bulldogs 28-20. It was their first win since 2008.
Wide receiver Jackson Gain made the most of his two catches in a 49-14 win over Thomas Edison. Gain’s grabs went for 139 yards and two touchdown.
OOLOGAH:
Oologah and Cleveland first played in 1978. The Mustangs have a record of 18-9 all-time against the Tigers and have won 7 of the last 8 games.
Running back Ashton Wright ran for 231 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in Oologah’s 51-0 win over Catoosa.
MIAMI:
Miami carded its first winning record since 2008, finishing 6-5. The WarDogs won a total of nine games from 2015-2021.
The WarDogs defeated Skiatook for the first time since 2009, 56-35. The 56 points were the most scored in a game since defeating Will Rogers 57-15 in 2008.
JAY:
Running back Luke Black ran 19 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 66-27 win over Inola.
Jay finished 12-2 in 1984 and came up one game short of the Class 3A state finals, losing to Idabel 14-7.
