Games to Watch in the Shawnee Area for Week 3
We have six matchups in the Shawnee area this week. The only team that is off this week is 3-0 Prague. Everyone else is in action as we wrap up the non-district portion of the season. We also have our first Thursday game of the year. That game will be highlighted below. Shawnee Wolves (1-1) vs Blanchard Lions (1-1)
Where: Blanchard Lions Stadium at Oscar Brooks Sports Complex in Blanchard
When: Friday, 9/15/23 @ 7 PM
History: Shawnee won last week for the first time since Week 7 of 2021 and will look to beat Blanchard for the first time ever. The Lions won the only previous meeting, beating the Wolves 40-13 in 2022.

McLoud Redskins (1-1) vs Tecumseh Savages (1-1)
Where: McLoud Stadium in McLoud
When: Friday, 9/15/23 @ 7 PM
History: Tecumseh has dominated this Pottawatomie County rivalry, especially of late. The Savages have a 12-9 overall edge in the series. Tecumseh has also won four straight, including a 40-14 last season.
Harrah Panthers (2-0) vs Seminole Chieftains (1-2)
Where: Evans Field in Harrah
When: Friday, 9/15/23 @ 7 PM
History: Harrah is looking for a breakthrough in this series. This has been a one-sided rivalry throughout its history as Seminole has won 15 of 17 meetings. Seminole has also won seven straight, including winning 22-14 in 2022.
Holdenville Wolverines (1-1) vs North Rock Creek Cougars (1-1)
Where: Holdenville High School Field in Holdenville
When: Friday, 9/15/23 @ 7:30 PM
History: Holdenville is the only team that North Rock Creek has played every year in their young program’s existence. The Wolverines currently hold a slight 2-1 edge in the matchup, including winning 28-13 last season.
Little Axe Indians (0-2) vs Bethel Wildcats (0-2)
Where: Little Axe Football Field in Norman
When: THURSDAY, 9/14/23 @ 7 PM
History: This has been one of the better small school rivalries in the area with Bethel holding a slight 14-11 edge. The Wildcats, though, have had the upper hand of late winning 5 straight, all by double-digits. Last year, the Wildcats shut out Little Axe for the second time in three years 35-0.
Meeker Bulldogs (1-1) vs Pawnee Black Bears (2-0)
Where: Meeker Stadium in Meeker
When: Friday, 9/15/23 @ 7 PM
History: These two teams have only played once before and that was last season. Pawnee won the high scoring affair 66-55 last season.
