Football Teams Making Playoff Noise in the North Region

What do you know about the teams competing in District B7? My guess is not much. But you should. Drumright is 2-0 in district play and 7-0 overall. This is a district that features Regent Prep, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, Yale, and a surging Barnsdall team that’s off to a 1-1 start in district. In fact, they all are. But unlike everyone else, Barnsdall is 6-1 overall.

The district everyone is talking about is 6AII-1 as Stillwater and Muskogee are on a collision course to decide the district champ in the final game of the regular season. But there is more to this district than you think. Charles Page and Bartlesville are proving to be tough teams to knock out. The biggest shock this season has been the fall of Booker T. Washington. If US Grant was playing an independent schedule, the Hornets could finish dead last. With Grant in the district, the Hornets will likely stay out of that last place finish and end up 7th overall.

Stillwater

Muskogee

Charles Page

Bartlesville

Tahlequah

Putnam City West

Booker T. Washington

US Grant

Perry continues to fight for their playoff lives in District 2A-1. I think they could finish fourth. Their schedule sets up for them to compete for the 3-spot if they can get past Newkirk, Chisholm, and Alva in the last three games of the regular season. Millwood and Oklahoma Christian have the top two spot locked up, but Perry could be that sleeper team who sneaks in at 3 and is a tough team to beat in the first round.

Brad’s predictions for 2A-1

Oklahoma Christian

Millwood

Perry

Chisholm

Alva

Blackwell

Hennessey

Newkirk
