Carl Albert 56 Elk City 14

Class 5A #1 defending 5A State Champion Carl Albert made the trek west down I-40 to face Class 4A #7 Elk City on Friday night. The Titans haven’t lost since righting the ship a year ago against the Elks on their home field. Carl Albert took the opening kickoff down the field for the game’s first TD capped off by the first of 5 TD runs by OU Commit Xavier Robinson. The Elks sparked the home crowd on their second offensive play, a 74 yard TD pass from Logan Webb to Reece Burton that tied the score at 7. From there Carl Albert dominated the game, piling up 49 straight points before Elk City tacked on the final TD of the night for the final score of 56-14. Carl Albert improves to 4-0 in the non district while Elk City slips to 2-2. The Elks get a much needed week off to heal a few bumps and bruises before district play begins Week 5 inside the Tornado Bowl in Clinton.

Elgin 42 Weatherford 7

Class 4A #10 Weatherford played host to Class 5A #5 Elgin on Friday night on Woody Roof Field. The Owls jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter and held that advantage into the halftime locker room. Elgin took the opening kick of the third quarter and two minutes later were in the end zone courtesy of a 19 yard Matt Lund TD run that opened the flood gates for the Owls’ offense. Elgin put 29 straight on the board in the second half before Weatherford finally found the end zone on a Jackson Blackmon two yard run after Nick Jett returned a kickoff down to the Owls 3 yard line. Elgin finishes the Non-District portion of their schedule 3-0 while Weatherford drops to 2-2 ahead of district play. The Eagles begin their 4A-1 slate with a home game against Chickasha.
