Home team listed first.

Shawnee Wolves (3-6, 1-4) vs Southeast (2-7, 0-5)

Result: Shawnee beat Southeast 56-7

Top Performer(s): Zyron Campbell (QB, Soph) – 8-15, 185 yards, 3 TD                                                                                                                Deetrick Beavers (RB, Jr) – 14 carries, 118 yards, 3 TD                                                                                                                                                          Toby Gray (WR/DE, Jr) – 2 catches, 87 yards, 2 TD, 11 tackles, 3 TFL, 1.5 sacks                                                                                                        Jayson Hair (LB, Sr) – 16 tackles, 4.5 TFL                                                                                                                                                                                Ryan High (LB, Jr) – 17 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PD

Coach’s Quote: “This was a solid performance. On offense, we were able to sustain drives and not turn the ball over. I was proud of how we generated big plays. On defense, we bounced back after the first drive and created several negative plays for them.” Jason Madonna, Shawnee HC

My Thoughts: This was a great win for the Wolves who had struggled over the previous two weeks. With the win, which was Shawnee’s first district win since the 2021 season, the assured themselves of not finishing last. The Wolves also were able to build momentum going into their final game of the year and the first full offseason under head coach Jason Madonna.

Up Next: Shawnee at Guthrie (8-1, 4-1) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Bridge Creek Bobcats (4-5, 2-4) vs Tecumseh Savages (3-6, 1-5)

Result: Bridge Creek beat Tecumseh 34-21

Top Performer(s):

Coach’s Quote:

My Thoughts: Tecumseh was already eliminated from playoff contention are now playing for pride. Tecumseh took a lead going into the fourth but were not able to hold on to the lead as Bridge Creek scored 17 unanswered points in the 4th. Tecumseh will look to get one more win, and send their seniors out in style, as they host Blanchard this week.

Up Next: Tecumseh vs Blanchard (8-1, 6-0) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Classen SAS (3-6, 0-6) vs Harrah Panthers (5-4, 2-4)

Result: Harrah beat Classen SAS 36-6

Top Performer(s): Devon Macaraig (RB, Sr) – 29 carries, 204 yards, 4 TDs, 3 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT                                                                  Titus Johnson (LB, Jr) – 11 tackles, 2 TFL

Coach’s Quote:

My Thoughts: This was a big win for Harrah. Unfortunately, with the other results across the district, the Panthers were eliminated from playoff contention. Either way, this result will allow Harrah to take a lot of momentum into their season finale and the offseason.

Up Next: Harrah vs Bridge Creek (4-5, 2-5) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

North Rock Creek Cougars (5-4, 4-2) vs Kingfisher Yellowjackets (3-6, 3-3)

Result: North Rock Creek beat Kingfisher 12-10

Top Performer(s): Caleb Hawkins (RB/DB, Jr) – 29 carries, 173 yards, 2 TDs, 2 catches, 38 yards                                                                    Trey Bray (DB, Jr) – 2 INT

Coach’s Quote: “This was a huge win for NRC and it should put us in the playoffs for the first time in school history. I’m really proud of, and happy for, our kids. The defense played outstanding. The secondary had three interceptions.” – Jason Murray, North Rock Creek HC

My Thoughts: It wasn’t a pretty game, but it got the job as the Cougars clinched a playoff spot for the first time in school history. The Cougars have an absolute star in Caleb Hawkins who makes plays on both sides of the ball. If the lean on Hawkins, NRC could make a little bit of noise in the postseason.

Perkins-Tryon Demons (8-1, 6-0) vs McLoud Redskins (4-5, 3-3)

Result: Perkins-Tryon beat McLoud 40-13

Top Performer(s): Kayden Mendenhall (QB, Soph) – 11-22,  203 yards, 1 TD                                                                                                         Coulson Kennedy (RB/LB, Sr) – 7 carries, 55 yards, 1 TD, 10 tackles                                                                                                                            Kaiden Cue (RB/LB, Sr) – 17 carries, 67 yards, 18 tackles, 2 TFL                                                                                                                                       Zaylun Matlock (WR/DB, Soph) – 4 catches, 73 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT                                                                                                                                 Shaun Hill (WR, Jr) – 6 catches, 120 yards

Coach’s Quote: “Perkins is a top team in the state. Our men did a heck of a job staying together and competing. I’m proud of them for playing as a team with no ‘me’ guys.” – Coleman Ramsey, McLoud HC

My Thoughts: McLoud fought hard against a very good team but they were unable to those key plays to pull the upset. Despite the loss, McLoud is still in the playoff hunt. They are currently in 5th place in District 3A-1 due to the marginal points tiebreaker. If McLoud can get a win over a struggling Mount St. Mary team, and get a little bit of help, they could find themselves sneaking into the postseason.

Up Next: McLoud vs Mount St. Mary (2-7, 0-6) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Seminole Chieftains (3-6, 2-3) vs Locust Grove Pirates (3-6, 2-3)

Result: Locust Grove beat Seminole 46-36

Top Performer(s): Donavin Garfield (QB, Soph) – 16-28, 137 yards, 17 rush, 156 yards, 5 tot TDs

Coach’s Quote:

My Thoughts: Seminole had an opportunity to solidify their playoff status going into the final week but now the Chieftains will have to not just win but get some help. This loss was made even more disappointing considering Seminole led 16-0.

Up Next: Seminole at Berryhill (5-3, 4-1) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Luther Lions (4-5, 3-3) vs Bethel Wildcats (2-7, 1-5)

Result: Luther beat Bethel 64-20

Top Performer(s): Maddox Davis (QB, Fresh) – 9-16, 127 yards, 3 TDs                                                                                                                      Ryan Clawson (WR, Sr) – 3 catches, 100 yards, 1 TD

Coach’s Quote: “We moved the ball all night, honestly, but we have to capitalize on drives. Twice we were stopped on fourth down inside the 10-yard line and we had far too many turnovers to win. Our Defense gave up big plays all night, which we can’t do and expect to be successful. We have some young guys filling big roles and have to learn in the future that we can’t make that many mistakes and expect to win ball games. I honestly feel like our kids gave us effort, we just have to be better in the execution department.” – Joey Ginn, Bethel HC

My Thoughts: This was a tough matchup for a young Bethel squad. The Wildcats fought hard and showed that they have some talent that just needs to gain experience. The loss officially eliminated Bethel from playoff contention. Bethel will host district leading Jones to close out the season.

Up Next: Bethel vs Jones – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Crossings Christian (6-3, 3-3) vs Meeker Bulldogs (5-4, 3-3)

Result: Meeker beat Crossings Christian 24-17

Top Performer(s): Ajay Lynch (RB, Sr) – 27 carries, 141 yards, 1 TD, 4 catches, 41 yards                                                                                   Treyvon Compton (QB, Jr) – 14-19, 217 yards, 8 rush, 54 yards, 2 total TDs                                                                                                                   Manny Saavedra (WR, Jr) – 4 catches, 104 yards, 1 TD

Coach’s Quote: “Our kids faced a lot of adversity early in the game. The defense settled in after they scored 17 early points and didn’t allow them to really get anything else going the entire game. The score was 17-8 at half, that score carried into the 4th quarter. Our offense started clicking in the 4th where they put together two huge drives. I am really proud of how our kids and coaching staff continued to fight for four quarters and get the win.” – Maverick Lang, Meeker HC

My Thoughts: It wasn’t easy but Meeker did just enough to win and, in the process, wrap up a playoff spot. The Bulldogs once again leaned on their tough defense and their two offensive stars in Compton and Lynch. This is a Meeker that deserves the attention of everyone in 2A. If a team takes Meeker lightly in the playoffs, the Bulldogs could pull an upset.

Up Next: Meeker vs Star-Spencer (5-4, 2-4) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM

Prague Red Devils (9-0, 6-0) vs Vian Wolverines (6-3, 5-1)

Result:

Top Performer(s): Aiden Auld (ATH, Sr) – 103 total yards, 3 total TD, 1 INT                                                                                                             Rex Geiser (QB, Sr) – 9-15, 158 yards, 2 TD                                                                                                                                                                         Robbie Schiltz (WR, Sr) – 2 catches, 50 yards, 1 TD, 3-3 Extra Points                                                                                                                               Joe Fixico (WR/DB, Sr) – 9 tackles, 1 Fumble Recovery

Coach’s Quote: “I’m very happy for my kids, they played extremely hard against a very good team.” – Rafe Watkins, Prague HC

My Thoughts: Prague proved once again they are one of the top teams in all of 2A. The Red Devils beat a very good Vian to clinch the district crown and will now look to win even more hardware as they prepare for the playoffs. 2A is a crowded class but the Red Devils have what it takes to win it all this year.

Up Next: Prague at Okemah (2-7, 1-5) – Friday, 11/3/23 @ 7 PM
