Despite the efforts of linebacker Lubbock Drake (Jr.) for the Warner Eagles making 24 tackles and two sacks against the Keys offense, the Cougars were able to pull out a two-point victory to stay in the driver’s seat for that fourth spot in district 2A-5.
Ponca City over Putnam City, 35-28
A big first half gave the Wildcats a lead they would never relinquish. PoHi scored 28 points in the first half giving them their third win in district play. PCO is now 2-2 and on the outside looking in for a playoff berth.
Altus over Duncan, 33-14
The Altus Bulldogs pick up their first win of the season over Duncan. Duncan remains winless on the season.
Cascia Hall over Verdigris, 35-32
One of their more important wins of the season, the Commandos improve to 3-1 while Verdigris drops to 2-2. Both teams are in the hunt for a playoff spot. Cascia Hall is competing for a district title which will likely come down to next weeks game against Bristow on the road.
