3 Northwest Games to Watch for Week 3

Last Updated: September 13, 20231.7 min read

Last week we did okay with our picks. Fairview and OBA came through. We were dreaming of a Woodward win, but we knew Bethany would probably come away with the win, and they did. Balko-Forgan proved us wrong and defeated Tyrone. So, 3-1, not bad. Let’s see what we have for week 3.

TULSA NOAH JAGUARS at CHISHOLM LONGHORNS

This is an interesting game for the Longhorns. NOAH features one of the more sought-after defensive linemen in Danny Okoye in the state and a capable quarterback in Chet Green, but Chisholm is no joke. Coming off the win over Kingfisher, the Longhorns have some confidence coming into this game at home and they have Easton John. Forget that 1-9 record from a year ago. Let’s go Chisholm for the win, 24-17. Hook’em.

EDMOND NORTH HUSKIES at ENID PLAINSMEN

I’ve been looking at this game all week. Enid is coming off a nice win over Ponca City, but it was a close contest. The Huskies from Edmond North beat rivel Edmond Memorial soundly, but the feeling is North is ripe for an upset. If Enid is going to win this game they must get to Pryce Bender, the QB for the Huskies. Defense will be key for Enid and winning the turnover battle will likely settle this one. I’m taking Enid in another close one, 34-28.

TEXHOMA RED DEVILS at WATONGA EAGLES

Forget the 61-0 lose the Eagles suffered last week at the hands of Hooker while Texhoma was enjoying an early bye week after losing to a team from Texas in week 1. Both teams need a win. Both teams are capable of getting the job done. The off week will help Texhoma. Extra time to prepare for Watonga will be the difference. Also, Watonga is 0-3 and has only scored 12 points this season, coming in week 0 against Thomas. Give me Texhoma, 44-8.
