3 North Area Games to Watch: Stillwater Poised to Dominate BTW, Perkins-Metro Christian Battle for 3A-1, Perry Should Win Big
Stillwater Hosting Booker T. Washington
Brad’s Take: Typically, this would be a marquee matchup of the week, but the Hornets are a little down this season, or at least they appear that way. A 1-3 record for the Hornets is unusual, however they are game and will play hard for four quarters. This is something Stillwater needs. An opponent who won’t roll over. Stillwater still wins big, 42-15.
Perkins-Tryon Enters the Fray Against Metro Christian
Brad’s Take: Both teams are 3-1 and riding winning streaks into what could be the best game of the week. Perkins lost a heartbreaker to Marlow in OT, otherwise they would be undefeated. The Patriots only defeat came against Class 4A Poteau early in the season. This game features the Metro offense versus the Perkins defense. It could come down to the final possession of the game. I like Perkins in a slight upset victory, 27-24.
Perry Looks to Keep it Rolling
Brad’s Take: At 2-2 the Maroons are coming off a big win against Blackwell and look to keep things rolling against Hennessey. In the preseason rankings, Hennessey was picked to grab the last playoff spot in district. In order for that to happen, they need a big win here against Perry. That’s a big ask. Perry has the upper hand at several key positions, and they are home, which is why I’m taking Perry, 38-6.
